I am excited to move from elementary school to middle school and teach 6th/7th grade science. I am extremely proud to be a new Spartan!

Byrd High School and La Tech University where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science. She then went on to receive her teaching certification from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. She has been teaching for 10 years in both Caddo & Bossier Parishes and coaching girls basketball since 2006. Mrs. Hamilton has been married for 13 years years to Mr. Tyrone Hamilton. She is a proud mother of a 5 year old, 3 year old & a 1 years old & is a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Benton.

✨ YDMS New Teacher Spotlight ✨ Hi! I'm Mark Schlatter and happy to be joining Youree Middle as a 6th grade math teacher. I have been teaching math for almost 30 years, including 15 years at Centenary College and 10 years at Ridgewood Middle School. I love using technology in my classroom and making videos to explain mathematics. When not teaching, I like reading books and graphic novels, playing board games, and spending time with my wife and our three dogs and one cat.

8th grade Celebration, Monday, May 15 8th grade students may wear free dress on Monday. CPPS dress code must be adhered to. Celebration is for students only. We will start in the morning with rehearsal for ceremony. We will then head outside for fun and games. Students are likely to get wet and muddy on the field. We suggest students bring a change of clothes and shoes. After games/fun, we will have lunch and then head to auditorium to watch the 8th grade slideshow! Ceremony tickets will also be given out to students at end of day. Each student will be given three (3) tickets for their family/friends. If parents want to come pick up tickets, they may do so after 10:00 a.m. on Monday. All tickets must be signed for.
