A sneak peak of our Pink Out Day fashion! I caught a few kids rocking their pink in support of Breast Cancer Research as they came in to school.
It's a sad day for Southern Hills as we bid farewell to Ms. Sharon Gipson, who is retiring after 30 years of educating students! While we will sometimes still see the Dallas Cowboy's number one fan on the Southern Hills campus, it won't be the same without her cheerful smile around campus daily. With that said, Congratulations on your retirement! The Southern Hills community wishes you the best in your future.
Parents, Southern Hills is seeking your help to ensure we have the most accurate information regarding the students we serve. Completing this survey before September 27th will confirm your child’s school receives the full amount of federal and state funding and makes sure your child receives all the educational services and programs they are entitled to receive. Because we are a district that provides free breakfast and lunch to all students, we have not captured some critical information that is used by federal and state agencies to provide schools with funding based on family income. Data collected is confidential and used only to determine the school’s eligibility for federal and state programs. If your student or household is currently receiving SNAP, TANF, Medicaid or Disaster SNAP, completion of this survey is not necessary. If you have any questions, please contact your school for more information.

It is almost time for our annual celebration of International Dot Day!
Join the fun as we strive to Make Our Mark on International Dot Day. Held on (or around!) September 15th, this is a yearly celebration of overcoming our frustration and self-doubt by starting with the smallest of things-- a dot! We will celebrate on Friday, September 13th.
We celebrate by sharing the story, doing art, and dressing up in our Dot apparel. Students are invited to wear a dot shirt/outfit. In the past, some have worn shirts they've made, while others have worn their favorite polka dot outfit. Some have worn polka dotted socks, while others have been head to toe dots. It is your choice, as long as it is within Caddo dress code policy.
If you are not familiar with the story, it is a wonderful picture book by Peter H. Reynolds called THE DOT. Check it out and then help us celebrate!
Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. We will see you all on Tuesday at 7:25am!
